Classic Cinnamon Rolls

AUTUMN! Its finally arrived at our doorsteps and I'm not going to lie I LOVE AUTUMN. So I thought would start off hopefully many autumnal posts with the classic cinnamon rolls which are just perfect for this time of year! So let's get into the recipe!

You will need:

For the rolls:

240g all-purpose flour

3 Tablespoons sugar

1 Tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

5 Tablespoons cold butter

178ml cup milk

For the filling:

133g brown sugar

3 Tablespoons white sugar

2 teaspoons cinnamon

50g butter melted

For the icing:

125g Icing sugar

25ml warm/hot water

(depends how much icing you want)

Method:

1. Preheat your oven to 190c

2. Add together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and it mix.

3. Add your butter (HIGHLY recommend taking it out the fridge before hand otherwise you will, and I say this from experience, struggle)

4. Now mix all of this together until forms a dough ( I recommend running cold water on your hands before you handle the dough)

5. Next is to roll out your dough, for this cover the rolling pin in flour, the surface and some on the dough its self (use how much you are willing to clean up after ahaha)

6. You should roll it out into a rectangle shape of about 1cm thickness

7. Now you'll need to make the filling for this simply put the ingredients into a bowl and mix until it is a paste consistency

8. Next spread your filling over the dough leaving a small gap around the edges.

9. You can now roll up your dough and then cut them into around 8 rolls

10. Now grease a baking tin with butter and place your rolls in with the swirl of filling facing up

11. Place them in the oven for 27-30mins

Icing:

1. Sieve your icing sugar into a bowl

2. With add boiled water or just warm water into the bowl and mixed until combined

3. Now drizzle your icing over your cooked cinnamon buns and ENJOY!

Hope you have fun making and eating these cinnamon rolls (I sure did!)
